Frequently asked questions about self check-in
It is the system that lets guests complete their arrival and get into the property on their own, with no receptionist: after online check-in they receive a code or QR they can use to get in at any time. In Avirato it works with no kiosks or extra hardware and is built into the PMS, which records the arrival and manages access.
No. Avirato's self check-in is an online process: the guest uses their own phone. You avoid buying, installing and maintaining kiosks and you don't have to alter the physical space. If you already have a kiosk, it can also work alongside the system.
With the access code or QR they receive after completing online check-in. If you have integrated smart locks (Salto, Tesa and others), the code is generated and activated automatically for the booking dates. If you use key boxes or code locks, the system provides the relevant instructions.
It's the most common use. The guest registers online, receives the arrival instructions and the code, and lets themselves in without anyone having to travel to the property. You see in the PMS that they've arrived and guest registration is sent automatically where required by law.
They stop being a problem. A guest arriving at two in the morning gets in just like one arriving at four in the afternoon. You can set different time windows and conditions by booking type if you want to keep additional control.
It frees them up. In hotels with a front desk, it absorbs out-of-hours arrivals and peak-time queues. In apartments and small properties it removes the need to be there for every arrival. The team spends its time on the guests who want attention, not on handing over keys.
